Kat describes herself as a composer, collaborator, mother and recovering vegetarian.  Having grown up in Darwin under a canopy of storms, Kat finds Adelaide a little dry, but has quickly developed an appreciation for its suitability to grape growing.  Kat’s works have been heard throughout Australia, New Zealand, Montreal and the United States.  Highlights include performances at the 2009 Canberra International Music Festival by Dublin-based Crash ensemble,  Bangalow Music Festival ‘06, Anechoic Chamber Ensemble, Manhattan ‘05, The Shell Darwin International Guitar Festivals ‘05, ‘02 & ‘99,  Norfolk Chamber Music Festival ‘04, the Bang On A Can Summer Institute ‘04, Live-to-Air on ABC Classic FM’s, “New Music Australia” ’03 and the World Saxophone Congress ‘00.  Her most significant commissions include “Charged Droplet Collision” (Darwin International Guitar Festival), “Punch for 6 pianos” (The Australian National Academy of Music) “AlieNation” (the Helpmann Academy) and Dog with ten bones (Australia Council of for the Arts).  Kat is a PhD candidate (composition) at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide.
